How we collect data

We will collect and store your personal data as follows:

• Directly from you and any information from family members, associates, or beneficiaries of products and services to us (e.g., when you make inquiries or communicate with us);

• Information about you generated when you use our products and services;

• Questionnaires and contact details when you attend surveys, investor conferences, roadshows, or when you update our contact forms on our website.

Who might be given your personal data

Your personal data stored by us will be kept confidential, but we may disclose your personal data to the following parties (whether inside or outside the Republic of Indonesia) for the purposes set out in Section C below, without prior notice to you and/or any other relevant individuals associated with the personal data:

• any person authorized as an insurance agent/marketer by Generali Indonesia to distribute insurance products and/or services offered by Generali Indonesia;
• agents, intermediaries, claim service providers, co-insurance companies, reinsurance companies, banks, hospitals/clinics/health centers, laboratories, professional advisors, business partners, and/or other related parties, as necessary, providing administrative, telecommunication, payment, investigation, consultancy, research, survey, and/or other services to Generali Indonesia in its business operations;
• related insurance industry associations, and/or members of such industry associations;
• locations or branches of Generali Indonesia, if required, and/or its Group Entities;
• persons to whom Generali Indonesia and/or its Group Entities are obligated to disclose based on the requirements as mentioned in (c) (xi);
• courts, governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, or other recognized bodies (including, but not limited to, tax authorities, insurance authorities, etc.) pursuant to binding laws of the Insurer and/or its Group Entities;
• legal successors or transferees of Generali Indonesia;
• persons bound by confidentiality obligations to Generali Indonesia and/or its Group Entities.

Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions where Generali entities are located or where third-party providers are located or from which third-party providers provide services to us. If required by relevant law, we may seek your consent to transfer such information outside your jurisdiction to our facilities or to third-party providers we share it with as described above. Your personal data will only be transferred to other locations where we believe that adequate protection levels are available to protect the integrity and security of your personal data, at least comparable to the jurisdiction or region where you provide such personal data.

The purpose of our data collection

We only process personal data that is relevant and necessary for your insurance needs and services, to perform our business functions, and to enhance customer service experience by providing access to content on websites, applications, or social media platforms.

We collect and process personal data for the following purposes:

• Managing your insurance applications, arranging and executing insurance contracts and/or related products and services, and managing your account with Generali Indonesia;
• Processing (including but not limited to investigating, analyzing, assessing, and adjudicating) and/or settling claims based on insurance policies issued and/or regulated by Generali Indonesia;
• Exercising subrogation rights (if applicable);
• Collecting outstanding amounts (if any) from customers;
• Arranging co-insurance and/or reinsurance companies in connection with insurance policies issued and/or regulated by Generali Indonesia;
• Communicating with customers via telephone, mail, email, facsimile, and other communication means;
• Providing customer services (including but not limited to processing inquiries and complaints) and other related activities;
• Conducting data matching procedures;
• Designing insurance and/or related products and services for customer use;
• Statistical or actuarial research by Generali Indonesia, its Group Entities, insurance industry associations, governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, or other recognized bodies;
• Complying with requirements under laws, rules, regulations, codes of ethics, guidelines, court orders, compliance policies and procedures, and other relevant requirements that Generali Indonesia and/or its Group Entities are expected to adhere to, including but not limited to conducting due diligence on customers and making relevant information disclosures; and
• Meeting any other purposes directly related to the above.

Unless permitted by applicable laws and regulations, we will obtain your consent if we intend to use your personal data for purposes other than those stated in this Privacy Policy.

Your Rights as a User

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal data you provide is accurate, complete, not misleading, and kept up-to-date according to the purposes of collecting and further processing such personal data.

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, you have the right to:

• Check whether Generali Indonesia holds personal data about you and, if so, obtain a copy of that data; and/or
• Request Generali Indonesia to complete, update, or correct any personal data errors and/or inaccuracies relating to you.

Under applicable laws and regulations, Generali Indonesia reserves the right to charge a fee related directly to and necessary for processing any personal data requests.

Use of Personal Data for Direct Marketing Purposes

When you give consent to receive information, product offers, and/or services and to be contacted by Generali Indonesia (and third parties appointed by Generali Indonesia and/or its affiliates) for marketing purposes and service improvement, you understand and declare that the above consent includes:

• Consent to be contacted and receive information about product offers and/or services, customer surveys, product campaigns via any available communication media (including but not limited to mail, email, Short Message Service (SMS), telephone, and other digital/electronic communication media) by Generali Indonesia (and third parties appointed by Generali Indonesia and/or its affiliates); and
• Consent to authorize Generali Indonesia (and third parties appointed by Generali Indonesia and/or its affiliates) to disclose your personal data information for the interests as mentioned in point (1).

You may contact us through our Contact Us section if you no longer wish to receive information about product offers and/or services from Generali Indonesia (and third parties appointed by Generali Indonesia and/or its affiliates).

We retain your personal data for a specific period of time

We will not retain your personal data longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the data was initially collected. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is destroyed or permanently deleted when it is no longer needed, unless such retention is necessary for operational, audit, legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting purposes.
